This small plein-air watercolour was painted directly by the water. Blue water, distant hills and greenery descending towards the shore. I wanted to capture the first impression quickly rather than describe the landscape in detail — the movement of the water, the line of the coast, the colour and the light of the place. For me, small plein-air works like this are almost visual travel notes. A few brushstrokes, a little time — and what remains on the paper is not only the view itself, but the feeling of having been there.
